I have not read "Truth and Beauty" but just listened to "The Dutch House" with Tom Hanks narrating and I absolutely LOVED it. I will seek out these others. Thank you

Looks like Veli has stopped guarding the porch, and is once again guarding the critters. Good job Veli!

You are a breath of fresh air!

Such a pleasant way for me to start my day, which have been tougher to get through because of … well … life. Stuff happens. Your Photos are sweet and amusing, and I love your writing, including the writing about difficult times.

One complaint: YOU MAKE ME MISS THE GREAT TOMATOES & CORN of my Midwest (Kankakee) roots. Drool drool.

Congrats on the successful “snipping” & marriage 😆. And an extra thank-you for the Patchett reminder! 😍

I am sorry that life stuff is hard right now, but I totally understand. Glad my critters can bring you a small dose of joy! Please feel free to come visit and grab some corn and tomatoes! Once you've had farm fresh it truly is hard to go back to store bought!!!

Good morning! Love the photos and their captions. You brought back a lovely memory for me by mentioning Anne Patchett. Many years ago a friend and I read Bel Canto and spent hours discussing it. My sweet friend died unexpectedly two years ago, so any and all memories of her are so very good for my heart. Thank you.

oh my gosh, you are going to love a couple of these essays that are about her friendships. Those were my favorites! Also, if you have not read "Truth and Beauty," about Patchett's friendship to the poet Lucy Grealy, I would highly recommend it!
