You are worthy of love, even if you’re so shy that no human has ever touched you (hi Titania), so careless you sometimes poop in the water trough (hi Peaseblossom) or so goofy you occasionally bowl your human over in your quest for attention (hi Puck).
I’m so sorry about your chickens. That sucks, especially when it comes on the heels of just trying to do one nice thing for yourself. I’m glad you’re being gentle with yourself, and that you have a plan for an automatic door that will help reduce your workload and hopefully ease your mind, too.
I was sooooo relieved when Todd and I got our omicron boosters, and when my pediatrician's office called me to schedule Skyler's covid vaccines, I almost started crying! YAY modern medicine!
I've forgotten to close the chicken coop up before dark a plenty of times. Most of the times everything has been fine. But I have had to scoop an opossum out of the coop with a rake once. Mostly we have problems with rats getting in the coop to eat the feed they scatter on the ground (we have an automatic closing feeder). Once a racoon got in and I was able to get it out without it harming the hens. Every day with chickens is just something new.
So sorry to hear about your chickens. Those losses are hard on several levels. Good news on coop door.
So sorry about your chickens, that must have been extremely hard! You are doing great, finding ways to keep them safe without having to be there 24/7.
I’m so sorry about your chickens. 😞 But, I’m glad your vaccination went well and thanks for the info on side effects.
I'm sorry about the chickens :-( Glad your triple vaccinated with minimal side effects - yay!
Oh boy, it’s awful when predators get your animals. Circle of life... and death! I’m glad it’s leading to good changes though.
