Your being here makes the whole world a little bit brighter. Thank you for being a little ray of sunshine. Here’s What’s Happening At Good Spirits Farm It’s new chick day! Ten laying hens and 15 guinea hens arrived this morning. Some of you may remember that there used to be guineas on the farm—they’re funny little birds that eat ticks and are great at warning the chickens about hawks and other predators. But: They warn the chickens by….screaming…loudly…kind of all the time.
YOU are a little bit of sunshine every Friday! Thank you.
My friend Spike (also a writer) lives on a ranch in Texas. She was doing crafts with a friend's 7-year-old daughter, and the little girl said, "Isn't this so satisfying?" It reminded me of your friend the crochet observer :)
A+ post - from chicks in the tub to the gentle admirer of your knitting
Think this might be my favorite edition of AffChick :)
Awwww, that’s the best kind of airplane bonding. And Happy Chickmas!!
Happy Chickmas! Yay for finding new ways to continue making the farm your own!
Today's post was just lovely. Thank you so much.
I have several memories from a flight several years ago, sitting next to a 6 year old returning from Christmas with her Dad's new family. First, she told me 'everything,' shared her chocolate Santas, and when I pointed out we were above the clouds, asked if we were going to see God? I told her I didn't think so. She then wanted me to meet her Mom at baggage claim and introduced me as her 'new friend.' It was a great after-Christmas flight.
I decided a while ago that life is too short to not compliment random strangers, so I make a point if doing it now. I know it makes me feel good to get a compliment, so why would I not want to pass it on?
Jackson for President 🥰🥰🥰🥰 My son likes to watch me knit and two days ago made me a sign that said “Go Mom!,”so proud of my (completely plain as day) knitting was he. Yes please! Sign me up for a cheering section when I pour myself water, cut up a carrot, or craft. P.S. here for all the guineas!
Great post. I found myself smiling broadly through nearly the entire post...
Jackson sounds like a sweetheart! Next time you visit Seattle, please ping me, I will buy coffee!
Great post! Have a wonderful weekend!
