You are thoughtful in your choices and actions. Live boldly the life that suits you. If your choices leave others with their mouths agape, that’s on them.

Here’s What’s Happening At Good Spirits Farm
We found a couple of teenagers who need work and have been doing the odd jobs we can never seem to get to. I’m conflicted about this because, well, it’s great to have help (even if their attention to detail is about what you would expect for two 17-year-old boys), but they also seem to have no interest in going back to school.
Todd and I are trying to figure out how best to low-key hint that a high school diploma is a really useful thing, and that hard physical labor only pays the bills so long as your body holds out. We don’t want to act like their parents, but, having to go back for a GED only gets harder the farther away from high school you get. Any hints you have for being like their cool, influential aunt and uncle who give great life advice and not their naggy old mom and dad would be great!
The one definite upside, though, is that one of the boys brought a puppy to work this week. Veli was beside herself. (Honestly, I was too.)
For being such a big dog, Veli is a total puddle for puppies.
Now, all I can think about is getting Veli a puppy of her very own. Luckily, I have Todd to keep me in line. (For now!)
Here’s What I Loved This Week
Spring has arrived! The grass is growing, the birds are chirping, the spring peepers are croaking in the pond. Three days over 65 degrees this week was as rejuvenating as a week at a spa. Everyone is happy!
THE PUPPY!
As to the boys . . . truly they may just need to figure things out for themselves and the more hard labor you throw their way the sooner they may figure it out (i taught HS and community college for about 20 years). But, conversations about what they are interested in, what their dreams are, the things you and Todd have done with your lives, etc may spark something in them. With teens/young adults you often can't tell what is percolating under the swagger and seeming indifference to the world! It's their armor.
That puppy and Velli just gave me the smiles
