Here's What's Happening At Good Spirits Farm

- I feel like we're bracing for heartbreak this week? The weather forecast predicts a once-in-50-years hard freeze tonight, which may wipe out most of our garden. The meat chickens and turkeys arrive today, and with the mail system being overloaded, entire shipments are showing up dead on arrival. I'm praying that isn't the case. Finally, our new Mama Chicken is doing a lackluster job of caring for her eggs. She keeps hopping off the nest and forgetting about her babies. I'm not sure we'll have any chicks hatch.
- This weekend will be all about triage: Protecting what plants we can, starting new seedlings for ones that don't make it, and figuring out what to do if we lose *everything* in the garden, which hopefully won't happen.
- A tiny bit of good news! Every single bluebird box Chris built over the winter is now housing either eggs or baby birds! Our farm will be full of Eastern bluebird families soon!
